RIM (Research In Motion) has partnered with Vodafone to launch a new application “Study Buddy” for its users, which will enable them to prepare for competitive examinations. For content, the two companies have entered into an agreement with management entrance test provider IMS.

Currently the Study Buddy Application has 5000 test papers which can be downloaded free of cost from BlackBerry Appworld by Vodafone customers using Blackberry smartphones. This innovative application was developed byPune-based Omni Bridge technologies.

Commenting on the partnership, Research in Motion, Director-Commercial Relationship, Hitesh Shah said,”IMS is well established and we value education content providing smartphones. With this application — Study Buddy — we will be able to take it to colleges and students”.

According to IMS Kerala and Tamil Nadu Business Head Sarith Nair, the sole objective behind launching this application was to help the two lakh people who take up CAT and CMAT training.Besides they would also offer training for students taking up ‘placement tests’, he added.

India’s leading Cinema owners PVR Cinemas have launched a Blackberry app for PVR fans to have quick access to info on the latest movies running in all the PVR Cinemas across India. Users can watch movie trailers, movie info and book tickets on their Blackberry for free. Movie tickets can be booked by paying through their credit card in a secured environment. This application allows the patrons to hold their tickets and pay later at the box office.

Users can also keep a track of their booking history and also receive information on discount offers & deals. They can also pre book their tickets much before the release of the movie.
