News Hunt, the Mobile news application from Ver Se Innovation, has been recognized as the Best News Application in the latest Nielsen consumer rankings and is part of the Top 10 Smartphone Apps in India. With a reasonably high engagement, NewsHunt has been acclaimed for enabling users to consume news from regional sources. NewsHunt is the only Indian application in this category.
The App Rankings was derived using Nielsen Informate Mobile Insights smartphone panel, with over 8000 smartphone panelists across India covering leading operating systems. The panel consists of members who are 15 years or older and is representative of the Indian smartphone market. The Apps are ranked based on their ‘Absolute Engagement’ score, which is the product of reach (i.e. penetration of an app in the panel) and engagement (i.e. time spent on the app)
Nielsen India Consumer Rankings are based on popularity and consumer experience for six lifestyle categories, including smartphone apps, e-tailing sites, mobile handsets, mobile operators, books and International travel preferences of urban Indian consumers.
The rankings are arrived at using Nielsen proprietary tools, current panels and in-depth surveys and studies where relevant across the country and are unique to each category.
