On Tuesday, Samsung announced the launch of Galaxy Grand Smartphone in India. Priced at Rs.21,500, the Galaxy Grand Smartphone is powered by Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The device is available in White and Metallic Blue colour options.
The Galaxy Grand Smartphone runs on 1.2 GHz dual core processor. It has a 5.0″ screen with WVGA TFT display powered with mDNIe technology. Its bigger screen and slimmer body is ideal for playing games, watching videos or surfing the web. The smartphone is also equipped with Samsung’s multi window feature that is meant to enable multitasking. Users can enjoy videos, browse webpages and create memos all at once on a single screen.
The Galaxy Grand Smartphone is has an innovative Dual SIM feature that separates work and personal accounts for differing usage and pricing plans. It comes pre-loaded with ChatOn, a cross-platform communication service that enables users to socialize with friends and to do more than just instant messaging. The device also comes pre-loaded with applications including ‘Games Hub’ and ‘My Services’.
It has an 8 mega-pixel camera (with flash) and a 2 mega-pixel front camera. Users can enjoy effortless photo-taking with a high response camera with quick start-up and zero shutter lag. The Galaxy Grand has a 2,100 mAh battery and an internal memory of 8GB (user memory of 4GB and expandable up to 64GB). The Galaxy Grand Smartphone has connectivity features like 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, S Voice and microUSB.
The GALAXY Grand also comes with various intuitive features like Smart Stay, Direct Call, Smart Alert, Popup Play, S Voice etc.,that will enable users to seamlessly engage with the device. The Smart Stay uses the front camera to prevent the device from going into standby mode while it detects a user in front of the device. Direct Call feature enables users to automatically dial a call by raising the device up to the ear. Smart Alert shows missed events such as missed calls and new messages just by picking up the phone. Popup Play enables the users to watch video in a pop-up window anywhere on the screen while running other tasks. The S Voice feature helps the user to control the phone using their voice. The device also features a unique Face & Voice Unlock that enables the users to lock and unlock their device with face or voice recognition, providing greater security and convenience. Galaxy Grand will also have multi-app functionality, allowing users to access two apps simultaneously.
