The international apps conference Apps World, has announced a partnership with Microsoft, as it prepares to launch Windows 8 shortly after the Earls Court 2 show on 2-3 October.
Reaction to Windows 8 among the developer community to the impending launch has been broadly positive, with the system’s innovative new user interface sparking much interest. Microsoft is running 27 free to attend dev camps across the UK throughout August and September.
The company will also be presenting many of the new facets of Windows 8 at the Apps World show.
Apps world also includes the inaugural Appsters Awards, a glitzy evening soiree at Kensington’s classy Roof Gardens venue, hosted by British TV comic Miles Jupp, recognising innovation and excellence across the world of multiplatform app development.
The submission process is currently open across ten categories, including ‘Best App Developer2012’, ‘Most Innovative App’ and ‘Best Enterprise App’. Entries must be received by 17 August, get yours in today.
A number of other key industry names have also signed up to deliver practical advice and expertise at Apps World, which is free-to-attend for developers.
Samsung will be there in force, with a team of expert developers including platform evangelist Manfred Bortenschlager and lead evangelist Cheng Luo, running a number of sessions examining the opportunities and challenges in working with Samsung’s SDKs.
Blackberry maker RIM has also just signed up this week, looking to engage developers ahead of the launch of BB10, and will be delivering a number of technical briefings across several of the event’s ten conference tracks.
Apps World includes ten tracks of expert industry content covering many areas, including gaming, HTML5 and web apps, mobile payments, cloud and enterprise and much more.
