Yahoo has acquired Silicon Valley start up Bignoggins Productions as a part of its quest to make more compelling applications for smartphones and tablet computers. The financial terms of the deal were however not disclosed.
Started three years ago in San Jose California, by Jerry Shen, Bignoggins, is the maker of popular mobile-device apps like “Fantasy Monster” and “Draft Monster.” The technology driving those apps will be integrated into Yahoo’s own offerings.
Following the acquisition, Shen, 30, is joining Yahoo’s mobile engineering team at the company’s Sunnyvale, California, headquarters. He is the only Bignoggins employee joining Yahoo.
