Hungama.com launches Hungama Movies in UAE

Hungama.com has announced the launch of its on demand Bollywood movies service- Hungama Movies in UAE and the Middle East. Hungama Movies will be officially launched in the Middle East at the Intelョ booth at the Gitex Technology Week 2012.

Hungama Movies will offer a rich catalogue of over 5,000 Bollywood and Indian regional cinema to the NRI and South Asian community in UAE and the rest of the Middle East.  The movies-on-demand storefront will offer premium HD & SD movie watching experience for a monthly subscription starting at AED 6.99. As an introductory offer the Hungama Movies service will be offered free for one month to all consumers who buy the Notebook or Ultrabook powered by the 2nd Generation Intelョ CoreProcessor and 3rd Generation Intelョ CoreProcessor at the Intelョ booth at Gitex Technology Week 2012.

Commenting on the launch, Siddhartha Roy, COO, Consumer Business & Allied services, Hungama said, “There is a very large South Asian community in UAE and the Middle East, who demands a quality service that caters to their need to consume Bollywood and Indian content, and with Hungama.com we hope to satiate this need- for both Music and Movies.” He added, “In addition to the United Arab Emirates, we also plan to enter Singapore market in 3 weeks.”

Hungama.com revolutionized the movie watching experience in India with the launch of the digital storefront Hungama Movies in partnership with Intelョ Insider The store front offers viewers a selection of the biggest Bollywood titles, including blockbusters from Yash Raj Films, T-Series, Reliance Home Video, Ananda Video, Ultra, Shemaroo, Krishna and Kavitalaya. The regional content on the site includes a cornucopia of languages like Bengali, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Telegu, Tamil etc. Ever since its launch in India, Hungama Movies has a subscriber base of more than 50,000 paid users, projected to grow 3 times in the next 12 months. In the Middle Eastern Market, the company hopes to have 10,000 subscribers in the first phase.
