Satyan Gajwani director, new media at The Times of India Group is the new CEO of Times Internet Limited (TIL). He’ll be replacing Rishi Khiani who was the CEO of Times Internet Ltd. since 2009.
Until now Satyan Gajwani’s prime focus was on the Times group’s key digital initiatives, developing content and technology platforms for news, business news, music, video, e-commerce, local, and mobile. He’s also a core member of Times’ Digital Investments Portfolio team. A Stanford University graduate, Satyan joined BCCL in 2009. He has previously worked with Lehman Brothers and has been significantly involved with strategy and products at Indiatimes along with Rishi Khiani.
On this new development Gajwani said,” We’re sad to see Khiani move on, but excited for his future ahead. Indiatimes has made great progress under his leadership, and I’m excited to take it forward to new and bigger heights. These are big shoes to fill, but with such a strong team in place, I’m sure we’ll succeed.”
Under the leadership of Rishi Khiani, the user base of TIL grew by 150% to 28 million visitors.It also saw significant growth in revenues and launch of strategic properties like Ganna.com and the new Indiatimes.com. The company also introduced highly successful live streaming of the latest season of IPL cricket matches.
